Time Of Your Life Vacations provides supervised safe, fun, and exciting one day and overnight vacations/trips for our travelers with disabilities. Most of our vacations/ trips are by vans and motorcoaches. We also offer vacations / trips by flight, train and cruises.
There is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it is a one-day quick getaway or an 8–10-day vacation, you will have the Time Of Your Life with Time Of Your Life Vacations!
Time of you Life Vacations LLC reserves the right to increase fees and/or change trip features as a result of circumstances beyond its control.
All prices include lodging, supervision, transportation, meals, assistance with medications and all activities. Travelers are only responsible for personal expenses such as souvenir shopping, wheelchair rentals, snacks etc.
Spending money: Spending money will be needed for snacks, souvenirs, wheelchair rentals and personal items. Whenever possible, receipts will be given for these expenses.
Tips and Gratuities: All tips, taxes, fuel service charges and gratuities for included meals, transportation and activities are included.
Time Of Your Life Vacations offers supervision on all of our vacations. On our overnight multi day trips we have staff and volunteer chaperons in the immediate area. While our staff members, travel coordinators and volunteer chaperons monitor and assists all Travelers, a staff in each room is not always available. Travelers’ rooms are typically adjacent, across or on the same floors to a staff member, travel coordinators and volunteer chaperon’s room. Highly trained, caring volunteer chaperons are assigned to the same travelers for the duration of each vacation/trip. Time Of Your Life Vacations uses a one-to-four (1:4) or one-to-five (1:5) volunteer chaperon / staff-to-traveler ratio.
Our staff members and travel coordinators assist travelers with their medications and are trained in CPR/AED and Basic First Aid. Many are trained in insulin administration and sign language. Our staff members, travel coordinators and volunteer chaperons will help assist travelers with daily life skills, money management, special dietary needs and an unforgettable vacation.
Our staff members, travel coordinators and volunteer chaperons are carefully screened and have all required ACT 34 clearances as well as a criminal history background check. Many of our staff members, travel coordinators and volunteer chaperons are teachers, work in group homes, medical professionals, and other qualified, caring and experienced people.
If Travelers, caregivers, agency staff and family members do not feel comfortable attending or sending a traveler on a vacation without a familiar face or if the traveler needs more assistance and supervision than we offer this is no problem.
We welcome all caregivers, agency staff and family members to attend our vacations along with their traveler. Arrangements must be confirmed at the time of registration. Caregivers, agency staff and family members accompanying traveler’s one-on-one will have an increased cost.
The cost is the same amount as the traveler fee. It is the responsibility of the family member, agency or group home to arrange their own staff to attend with their traveler. We cannot take any traveler that is signed up to attend a trip with their staff that is a 'no show' the day of the trip. No refunds will be given.
Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who are 18 years of age and older
who need assistance vacationing are welcome to travel with Time Of Your Life Vacations LLC!
Travelers should be able to travel in a 4:1 or 5:1 traveler to staff ratio, care for their own personal hygiene needs independently or with minimal supervision, cooperative and considerate of their fellow travelers and staff.
To meet special requirements of our travelers please contact our office at the time of registration:
·Travelers who need to use mobility aids (canes, walkers, upright walkers and roller walkers must contact our office at the time of registration.
· Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who are 16 years of age and younger MUST travel with their own staff or family member. Call our office for more information. Not all vacations/trips are suited for individuals under 18 years of age.
· Travelers requiring special dietary requirements must contact our office at the time of registration.
· Travelers requiring insulin injections must contact our office at the time of registration.
· Travelers bringing oxygen or breathing machines on trips must contact our office at the time of registration.
In order to properly and safely accommodate Travelers who use wheelchairs / electric scooters, we use the following policy:
Most tours can accommodate persons in wheelchairs. If a traveler uses a wheelchair / electric scooter an additional fee may apply if travelers require additional care or medical rental equipment, a form of transportation requiring a lift (a lift van / bus or airline storage), you must call us for more information on accessibility prior to registering.
Travelers who require wheelchair accessible vehicles, mobility related care and/or need any assistance transferring (toileting, dressing, bedtime, etc.) are required to provide their own caregivers, agency staff and family members to attend our vacations along with their traveler. Arrangements must be confirmed at the time of registration. Caregivers, agency staff and family members accompanying traveler’s one-on-one will have an increased cost. The cost is the same amount as the traveler fee.
Walking Codes:
The walking codes help travelers identify the amount of physical activity required on a specific vacation and are as follows:
1 - LEISURELY WALKING: This vacation involves minimal physical activity. It requires climbing of some stairs, boarding the motorcoach or van, and walking from a parking lot area to the attraction.
2 - ACTIVE WALKING: This vacation requires that you can climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and walking surfaces.
3 – VERY ACTIVE WALKING: This vacation includes moderate physical activity. Walking slightly longer distances, climbing stairs or walking over uneven terrain should be expected.
4 - FAST PACED VERY ACTIVE WALKING: This vacation requires a heavy amount of walking. To truly experience the vacation and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as long walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing. Some of the days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening. Not recommended for individuals in wheelchairs or slow-paced walkers.
Time Of Your Life Vacations uses a one-to-four (1:4) or one-to-five (1:5) volunteer chaperon / staff-to-traveler ratio. Please be aware that care & supervision on vacations is more intensive and can be more demanding than in the home setting.
If a Traveler requires a 1:2 or 1:1 supervision, arrangements must be confirmed at the time of registration. Caregivers, agency staff and family members accompanying travelers on vacations will have an increased cost. The cost is the same amount as the traveler fee.
It is the responsibility of the family member, agency or group home to arrange their own staff to attend with their traveler. We cannot take any traveler that is signed up to attend a trip with their staff that is a 'no show' the day of the trip. No refunds will be given.
How Do I know If a traveler needs one -on -one SUPERVISION:
Please call the Time Of Your Life Vacation Office to inquire if a traveler needs one on one supervision. Please use the following as a guide for those travelers who need one on one supervision.
· Travelers who use a wheelchair to ambulate and/or require physical assistance to transfer.
· Travelers who need assistance with their Ostomy / Colostomy bag.
· Travelers who have severe behavioral health challenges.
· Travelers who have sexually inappropriate behavior challenges.
· Travelers that require a feeding tube or any other medical device that is used to take food by mouth.
· Travelers requiring insulin injections must contact our office prior to registration to confirm arrangements. If we cannot provide the traveler with assistance with their insulin injections during their vacation/trip, we will ask that they attend the trip with their own Caregivers, agency staff and family members.
· Travelers requiring oxygen or breathing machines on trips must contact our office at the time of registration. If we cannot provide the traveler with assistance with their breathing machines during their vacation/trip, we will ask that they attend the trip with their own Caregivers, agency staff and family members.
· Travelers that require a staff in their hotel room with them on overnight vacations/vacations.
Caregivers, agency staff and family members accompanying travelers on vacations will have an increased cost. The cost is the same amount as the traveler fee.
What happens if a traveler requires behavioral intervention?
In the event a traveler’s behavior is deemed disruptive or a threat to the safety and enjoyment of the community or other travelers on any trip, the traveler will be returned home at their expense and without a refund. Damages caused will also be charged to the traveler.
If Time Of Your Life Vacations cannot provide a staff to assist the traveler home It is the responsibility of the family member, agency or group home to arrange their own staff to pick up their traveler from the trip.
We suggest that if you have a traveler that has on going behaviors that caregivers, agency staff and family members should attend our vacations along with their traveler as a one-on-one.
Caregivers, agency staff and family members accompanying traveler’s one-on-one will have an increased cost. The cost is the same amount as the traveler fee.
